Baking a fresh online experience for Bertinet Bakery.

Project Details
The challenge:
The existing Bertinet Bakery website was no longer fit for purpose. The company was suffering from vendor lock-in and needed a solution that not only brought their new branding to life, but also allowed them the flexibility they needed to update and maintain the site in-house.
The approach:
Freshly Brewed worked with the team at Bertinet to understand key messaging and requirements for the new website.
Much like the simplicity of their bread, Freshly Brewed focused on the essentials. We created a clean and uncluttered UI, alongside beautifully enticing photography and a varied, but muted colour palette.
The end result give users a quick way to get information on their favourite sourdough bread including nutritional information and where to buy.
Bertinet Bakery was established in Bath in 2008 by acclaimed French baker Richard Bertinet, initially as a pop-up bakery above his cookery school, The Bertinet Kitchen. The bakery quickly gained a reputation for high-quality, artisan bread, leading to the opening of dedicated retail outlets in Bath to meet growing demand. Richard Bertinet’s philosophy centred on traditional breadmaking, using just three ingredients: wheat, water, and salt.
The Bertinet Bakery brand expanded its reach and, in 2018, was acquired by Bread Holdings, the parent company of other premium bakery brands such as Gail’s and The Bread Factory.
After undergoing a recent brand refresh, the company needed a new website to match it’s reputation for quality.
